An annual real estate review is an opportunity to learn about the current market in your neighborhood, and the potential value of your property, even if you have no intention of selling your home or property in the near future.

It is a way to stay aware of the value of your real estate holdings, and how the market is evolving around you.  We will provide a synopsis of what is happening in your neighborhood, and answer any questions that you may have.

This is just one of the courtesies that we offer to clients, friends, and others who may find this information useful.

A real estate review typically takes place as a conversation, whether in person, via Zoom, or phone. Below are a few examples of topics that may be discussed during our conversation.

  • Learn whether or not proposed renovations or improvements to your home will add value

Some home renovations or improvements that you are considering may be important to you, but may not add value to your home in the long run.  Others are easy, relatively inexpensive, and can add to your enjoyment of your home, and add value.

  • Find out what homes or properties in your neighborhood have sold or are selling for

It is always good to know what is going on in your neighborhood - current listings, recent sales, and more.

  • Understand the current market trends

What is the average sale price in your neighborhood?  Are prices trending up or down?  What is the average days on market?  All of these items affect the value of your property, even if you don't plan on selling.

  • Discuss any news or issues in your neighborhood or townthat you may not be aware of, or that you are aware of, but have questions about

Sometimes there is news (or rumors) about goings on in a town or neighborhood - we might know what is really going on, or be able to find out.  This could be related to construction or renovation of neighboring homes, zoning changes, pending tax reassessments, or just about anything you can think of

  • Make a plan for the future of your property, whether for investment purposes, retirement, or some other purpose

We are often asked about property values for investment, retirement or estate purposes.  Other times an owner may be considering a nominal sale to a family member, or putting a property into a trust or other entity.  While we are not attorneys, and cannot provide legal or tax advice, we can still point you in the right direction, and refer you to other professionals when appropriate.

If a conversation such as this would be valuable and useful to you, please let us know.  Of course, all discussions remain confidential.
